MP TO CO-ORGANIZE 2018 U.N. YOUTH GHANA SUMMIT
Millennium Promise Alliance is jointly organizing the first-ever UN Youth Ghana Summit 2018 to be held in Accra from 5 to 7 October 2018.
Special guests of honor include Prof. Jeffrey D. Sachs, a world renowned Professor of economics, leader in sustainable development, and Director of the center for sustainable development at Columbia University.
Others include former Ghanaian President Jerry John Rawlings, while the keynote speech will be delivered by the incumbent Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The event will be held under the theme: “Mobilizing and Utilizing Ghanaian Youth in Active Participation Towards Achieving the Global Goals for Sustainable Development”.
Other members who are actively engaged in organizing the event include the SDG Advisory Unit at the Office of the President as well as the various students and out of school Unions across Ghana.
The event will bring together various change agents, entrepreneurs, and leaders, organizers have said.
Their deliberations will focus on ways and means of promoting and attaining the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Organizers say the summit will be the first ever and largest youth gathering in Ghana’s history and will bring together over 2000 delegates and 300 Special guests and dignitaries from various sectors and industries.
They will include world leading experts, policy makers, industry players youth and students from across all the national students unions, religious students unions, national youth-based organizations and national courses-based organizations.
Others will include, political and social activist groups, performing artists, leading sports stars as well as entertainment groups, service and honorary societies, national organizations of persons with disabilities, social clubs, non-governmental organizations and civil society representatives.
Applications are now open to young people between the ages of 18 and 40.
