Millennium Promise (MP) partners with the African Renaissance and Diaspora Network to popularize the SDGs at local level
A regional information development committee (C.R.D) was held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at the Diourbel governance, on the implementation of the SDG based territorial information system. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Governor in charge of development, Mbaye Dione, in the presence of Dr. Amadou Niang, Director of the Millennium Promise NGO and Dr. Lamine Gueye, Rector of Alioune Diop University of Bambey.

JEDDAH, SAUDI ARABIA, August 13, 2013 - The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Earth Institute (Columbia University) formed a partnership in 2011 to work with African nations to support their efforts to end extreme poverty. The IsDB and the Earth Institute and its partner, Millennium Promise, are pleased to announce that the IsDB and its poverty reduction arm, the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD), have now extended more than $100 million in financing to help eight African nations combat extreme poverty, improve public health and achieve more sustainable development.
KAMPALA, July 1, 2013 – In a landmark ceremony in Kampala last week, the Government of Uganda launched the scale up of the Millennium Villages Project (MVP), supported by new funding from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) of $US 9.75 million. The announcement follows the success of Ruhiira Millennium Village in the south west of the country, which since 2006 has served as a proof of concept of the benefits of an integrated, holistic approach to rural development pioneered by the MVP.
Nigeria is ramping up its effort to fight extreme poverty in many of its poorest areas, using hundreds of millions of dollars available through an international debt relief program, combined with money from local governments, to expand health care, education, water infrastructure and other programs.
